Thin Lizzy未発曲音源集3作目。今作はPhil Lynottのソロ音源を中心にGary Mooreとの共作も収録。Tr.4,Tr.6およびGreedies名義*1のTr.10は2000年に出たベスト版*2にも収録されているので資料的価値は薄い。また、Tr.8なども現在はベスト版*3にも収録され、CDを収録曲の稀少さから検討すると大分価値は下がりつつある。
が、本CDの最大の魅力は何と言っても後半―Tr.12,14〜16。これらは商用には未だ収録されていない。Tr.12は聴いたことのある曲が次から次へと演奏されるメドレー*4。Tr.14からの残る3曲は実質Philの未完の遺作*5。Huey Lewis and the NEWSの全面協力の下、PhilがVo.をとってレコーディングされている。Tr.16はGRAND SLAM時代*6の"Harem"という曲に良く似ている。両者共にキーボードが前面に押し出されたPopなバラードでとても聞きやすい。違った形でメロを残そうとしていたあたり余程気に入っていたのかもしれない。
The man and his musicは7まで出ているが、7枚の中でPhillについて深く考えるには一番良いCDといえる。Thin lizzy名義の曲が少ない為、Thin Lizzyを追っかけている人には向かないかも知れないが…。
